We will now begin writing the Position Papers, or essays, for Global Classroom. These essays are written for you to demonstrate to the reader the knowledge you have about your country. These essays are based on your research, and your recommendations about the topics we have been discussing in class this year.
The official topic for GC this year is: "The need of Environmental Education and Wildlife Extinction Risks from Climate Change", however we also focused on MDG 2: Achieve Primary Education for All and MDG 3: Promote Gender Equality, therefore, you can focus on whichever topic you feel is most important for your country.
* For example if you live in a country where girls don't go to school because they don't have as many rights, your recommendations can be about how to improve girls education, not about how to save certain animals, but if your country is one with a high risk of losing biodiversity and wildlife, perhaps you should focus more on recommending ways for the FAO to decrease that; it is your choice.
** The BEST thing is to be able to connect all the topics.
These papers MUST be submitted to the Fundacion Botin on the 20th, therefore you MUST e-mail them to me by the night of the 19th, so I can read them before submitting them.
You should begin in class today by creating a new google doc, and giving it the title of: "Australia's Position Paper" and share it with me TODAY so I can watch your progress.
As you write your papers, remember to save any websites you use, because you must list them at the bottom of your paper. Below you will find many resources to help you through this process.
DUE NEXT MONDAY: a rough draft of your paper.
